The Vauxhall Monza coupe concept is a sign of things to come, says Vauxhall, and will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013. The UK and Europe have eschewed small saloon cars for hatchbacks in recent years. But in other parts of the world its the small saloon that’s big news, so many will be interested in the new Mazda3 saloon, revealed by Top Gear in Russia ahead of an official debut. Looking exactly like the new 2014 Mazda3 hatch revealed last week (there’s a shock), Mazda has managed to make the translation from hatch to saloon seamless, with proper flowing lines and no sense of a ‘notch’ grafted on the back.
General Motors has announced a change within its Global Design organization that will effectively see Bryan Nesbitt and Ken Parkinson switch roles from August 1 this year. Bryan Nesbitt, who has been executive director North American Exterior Design and Global Architecture Strategy, has been appointed vice president of GMIO Design. The appointment will see Nesbitt relocate to Shanghai, China, and serve as the lead voice for Design in the GMIO region.
